Female circumcision is still performed as a tradition in some countries, but there is no good medical reason for doing it. Most countries where it has been done in the past now realise that there is no reason for doing it and are introducing laws to prevent it being done now. If you feel that you are, as a girl, being pressurised into having female circumcision do talk to someone you trust about how you feel about it. If you have had the operation already - there are ways of 'undoing' it, which you can talk to you doctor about.
